I haven’t been one to make my own marinades in the past but lately we have been trying to eat more natural and healthy foods. One way that we have been achieving this is to prepare more of our meals and snacks from scratch at home.
So rather than buy a jar of marinade, or meat that has already been marinated, I decided to try making my own marinade. To tell you the truth another reason for the homemade marinade is our disappointment with the bought stuff. Often bought marinades are either too spicy for our taste or they have a weird flavor! Not to mention all the preservative and additives!
Earlier this year I went on a quest to find an easy marinade recipe and hit the jackpot when I found this recipe for Honey Soy Marinade at Best Recipes. We have made it up a few times now because we just love the flavor. It is very easy to make too, just mix everything together and you’re ready to go! We have tried it with chicken and with beef but you can also use it to marinate lamb.
A few weeks ago I placed some chicken into snap lock bags with some of this marinade and popped it in the freezer. This makes dinner very easy, just move it from the freezer to the fridge in the morning, and then you’re all set for some tasty honey soy chicken for dinner!
Now I’m on the lookout for other easy homemade marinade recipes to try! So feel free to comment below with your super easy marinade suggestions!
