Nutty Anzac Slice Recipe
This Anzac Slice is soft and chewy and has all the flavors of an Anzac biscuit. The addition of walnuts however takes this slice to the next level!
Serves: 20 – 24 (depending on slice size)
  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • ¾ cup of desiccated coconut
  • ½ cup of chopped walnuts
  • 125g butter
  • 2 tablespoons of golden syrup
  • 1 level teaspoon of bi carb soda
  • 3 tablespoon of boiling water
  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F)
  2. Prepare an 8” x 12” x 1.5” slice tin by lining it with baking paper (leave some overlapping the sides so it is easier to get out after it is cooked).
  3. Combine oats, flour, sugar, coconut, and walnuts in a large mixing bowl and stir to combine.
  4. In a small saucepan heat butter and golden syrup over low heat and stir until butter is all melted.
  5. Combine bi carb soda and boiling water and add this to the butter mixture.
  6. Add butter mixture to the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
  7. Press mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool in tin for 30 minutes before cutting into slices.
