Easily and Quickly Cleaning Bathroom Tiles and Grout

Last updated on: November 15, 2013 By Kaylene Filed Under: Bathroom, Cleaning, Home Maintenance 4 Comments

Cleaning Bathroom Tiles and Grout - The Links SiteMany DIY websites that address cleaning tile grout suggest the use of bleach or other harsh cleaners and a toothbrush or small grout brush. While this is O.K. if you only have a small area to clean, if you want to clean a larger area of tiles then the use of harsh chemicals can be dangerous due to toxic fumes and also tediously slow if only using a small brush.

Some sites suggest the use of more friendly cleaners such as vinegar and bicarb soda but they too often have methods that require the use of a small brush.

The link below provides a recipe for a safe cleaning solution that can be used to quickly clean a large area of tiles.

I made up the solution and used it in my shower and was amazed at how easily the grime on my tiles and grout cleaned off. This method is definitely one that I will use regularly to clean my tiles!

Thanks for the tips for cleaning out grout. I have tried the small brush method, and you are right, it takes a long time to clean a large area. Our kitchen is a massive area, and all of it’s floor is tile, so thanks for the tips on cleaning bigger areas!

There are some fantastic grout cleaning brushes out there these days which make light work of larger areas, although would definitely take on your suggestions with very large areas.
