Easy Plastic Plant Markers

Last updated on: June 28, 2021 By Kaylene Filed Under: DIY, Gardening, Tools and Equipment Leave a Comment

Two rows of radish plants growing in the soil with a drip irrigation hose running down the middle. A plastic plant marker labelled ‘Cherry Belle Radish’ is sticking out of the soil in front of the plants.

I have enjoyed growing my own vegetables immensely over the last few years.  It is so rewarding to plan out what you want to grow, care for the plants, and then harvest your vegetables. I have even contemplated planting vegetables that I don’t like that much just so I can see if I can grow them! No matter what you are planting though, one thing that comes in handy in the vegetable garden is plant markers! If you are sowing lots of different seeds then you need to keep track of which ones … [Read more...]

Easy DIY Flower Bookmarks

Last updated on: January 30, 2022 By Kaylene Filed Under: Craft, DIY, How To 1 Comment

Two flower bookmarks resting on the page of a book. One has a green paperclip with a purple flower and the other has a white paperclip with a pink flower.

Today I’m sharing how to make these cute DIY Flower Bookmarks. It’s a super quick and easy project that is great for kids and adults! I’m a bit old fashioned in that I love to have my hands on a book when I read it. I have tried reading eBooks on a tablet but it just isn’t the same. I mean picking up a tablet just isn’t the same as picking up a book and flicking through to where you left off. It’s because I like to read physical books I need to have a bookmark handy. Often I will use just … [Read more...]

The main criteria I had for this … [Read more...]

Last updated on: July 1, 2019 By Kaylene Filed Under: Cleaning, DIY, Home Maintenance, How To Leave a Comment

Make this DIY Broom Handle Extension to double the length of your broom handle. thelinkssite.com

Weather you need it for cleaning high ceilings indoors or for reaching an awkwardly high point outside this DIY broom handle extension will come in handy all around the house. No matter how hard we try there is always the odd spider that will try to take up residence in the upper corner of a room. This is particularly true with our dining room that has very high sloping ceilings. The ceiling itself looks quite nice with its exposed beams but it is a bit of a pain to clean. I think the … [Read more...]

Last updated on: September 7, 2019 By Kaylene Filed Under: Craft, DIY, Halloween, How To Leave a Comment

A dimly lit image showing battery powered pillar candles wrapped with orange craft paper that is decorated with Jack O Lantern faces. The facial features have been cut out so that the light from the candles shines through. Text overlay says: DIY Spooky Halloween Candles.

These DIY Halloween candles are great for a simple last minute Halloween decoration because they’re so very quick and easy to make! We never celebrated Halloween when I was a kid. We might have had some decorations up at school but that was about it. That’s because Halloween wasn’t a big thing in Australia back then so there was not much made of it. Celebrating Halloween is much more popular nowadays. I saw quite a few kids out trick or treating last year which was fun. This year might be … [Read more...]
