Wow didn’t May go fast! I can’t believe that we are almost half way through the year already! Last month I was excited because we were finally starting to get some rain for the garden. Since then it has been very wet and we even had our first real frost last week!
In fact the weather has been so cold, wet, and miserable these last few weeks our cats will go outside, see how miserable it looks, and then come back in again to sleep in the warm!
To contrast the miserable weather this month’s links I love photo is of a beautiful Phalaenopsis orchid! This is an orchid that I gave my mum for Mother’s day. I couldn’t resist buying it when I saw it at the supermarket!
Now let’s get down to business and I’ll to show you some of my favourite posts from May!
As usual I will be providing a direct link to the source as well as a large Pinterest pin. That way you can go straight to the source if you like or you can pin it onto one of your Pinterest boards.
I’m going to start with some mouth-watering recipes as usual! Like these Cheesy Roasted Potatoes with Bacon from Mary at The Cake Chica. I could eat this by itself, don’t worry about it being a side dish!
I was also drooling over this Super Juicy Teriyaki Burger that I saw over at hapa nom nom. I have never made my own teriyaki sauce before; but I’m going to try it very soon!
I would also like to try these Crispy Baked Spiralized Fries from Ali at Inspiralized. I haven’t used my spiralizer for a while so I’ll have to give these a go!
This Coconut Lemon Loaf that I saw over at Wholesome Patisserie caught my eye as well last month. I have a weak spot for anything with a lemon coconut flavour combination!
The final recipe link that I wanted to share is for these No-Bake Cherry Ripe Balls from Lucy at Bake Play Smile. I think that Cherry Ripe would have to be my all-time favourite chocolate bar, so I can see some of these in my future!
On a craftier note, what about this One Hour Floor Cushion that I saw at Oh Oh Blog! These look so easy to make, I might have to make one for myself!
I’m a big fan of repurposing things so I loved this idea for an IKEA Placemat to Jewelry Organizer from IKEA Hackers! It would be so easy to customise this idea to suit your own jewelry collection!
We recently bought some raised garden beds, but I might have to have a go at making some more now that I have seen this information on Building Raised Beds for Your Vegetable Garden at Mother Earth News.
This final link caught my eye because we had a bit of trouble with birds eating our strawberries last summer. I love this idea for using Painted Garden Rocks to Scare Birds Away from Mavis at One Hundred Dollars a Month. I will be giving this a try next strawberry season!
Well that’s it for this month; I hope that you have enjoyed seeing my favourite links from May. If you want to see more cool links check out my Pinterest page.
