I like to share a photo from my garden for these posts each month. Usually it’s a photo of something that was going on in the garden during the previous month. This month’s photo is of some of our beautiful bearded irises! These flowered in late October and they looked so pretty. They don’t flower for as long as I’d like but an Instagram friend told me that is because they are in full sun. It is amazing what you can learn on Instagram!
Actually these irises are planted along a fence at the side of our house. We don’t have any windows that overlook this part of the garden so our neighbours get a better view of them than we do! Their driveway runs right past this garden bed so they can admire them as they come and go!
Something else I want you to admire are these links that I found during October! As usual I will share a direct link as well as a Pinterest pin. So you can go straight to the source and have a look or pin it for later; it’s up to you!
Getting down to business, my first link is for this Fathead Rosemary Garlic Flatbread from Denise at My Life Cookbook. It’s a really tasty looking low carb flatbread that you can eat on its own or use it for a sandwich. I’ll have to give this recipe a go!
Another recipe that I would like to try is for these Butternut Squash Fries that I saw at Kirbie’s Cravings. I’ll keep this recipe handy for when our butternuts are ready next autumn!
And what about the sweet potato spaghetti in this Sweet Potato “Spaghetti” and Meatballs recipe from CItNutritionally! What a great way to add some veggies to a family favourite dinner!
I love my Nutella so I couldn’t resist this Chocolate Hazelnut Bread from Saving Room for Dessert! This WOULD NOT last long at my house!
With Christmas fast approaching there are increasing numbers of Christmas recipes appearing. This pretty Christmas Cheesecake from OMG Chocolate Desserts was one that caught my eye last month!
I really love these Glittered Clothespin Wine Charms that I saw over at Happy Hooligans. Such a simple idea and a great craft project for the kids!
This tutorial from A Beautiful Mess showing how to Make Your Own Jean Skirt got my attention last month. I’ve got a couple of old pairs of jeans that I could do this with!
I would love to have a go at making this Macrame Wall Hanging that I saw at Scissors and Sage. I haven’t tried macrame before so I’ll have to give it a go!
Finally I wanted to share this cute DIY Fall Leaves Ice Bucket from Laurel at A Bubbly Life. It’s not fall here in Australia but I still love this cool idea. I’d love to try a summer version of this!
Well that is all the links that I have to share today. I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of my favourite links from October. If you want to see some more why no head over to my Pinterest page!
