This Plum Crumble Recipe is the perfect mix of sweet tangy plums and delicious crunchy topping. Made with fresh plums it’s amazing with cream or ice cream!
I love being able to pick fresh fruit straight from the garden! We had our own apricots before Christmas and now the plums are ready and they are delicious! It is a pretty big job trying to keep the birds away from the fruit trees but it is worth it to be able to pick some ripe juicy plums.
While it is great eating them fresh I also love cooking with plums. Last year I made some Plum and Oat Muffins which I’m planning to make again – I love them for breakfast!
This year I have been craving a plum dessert so I decided to look up a plum crumble recipe. I found a recipe for a blackberry crumble over at Recipe for Perfection and modified it slightly. This is such an easy plum crumble recipe and it is quick to make. Cutting up the fresh plums is the most time consuming step. The result is just delicious though! I love the tanginess of the plums and the crunchiness of the topping; it is such a satisfying and comforting dessert.
The crumble topping can be used with other fruits as well if you don’t have plums. I have also made rhubarb and apple crumble using this topping and it was a big hit!
