Welcome to my latest ‘Links I Love’ post! As usual I am sharing the great links that I have come across during the previous month. That means that this month I will be sharing my favourite web links from April 2014.
I just love exploring other blogs and seeing what people from all around the world are up to. I am always amazed at the number of great ideas that are being shared online and I’m sure that there are many more than the ones I see! I love getting a daily email from bloglovin’ where I can see new posts from the blogs that I follow.
Pinterest has also made it easier to find inspiration for recipes, crafts, DIY, and gardening. I could spend hours on Pinterest searching for cool ideas and pinning great images!
As with previous months I have pinned photos from the websites I have found onto my Pinterest boards and I am sharing those pins here. If you want to pin any of the links to one of your own boards on Pinterest just click the ‘Pin It’ button. Or you can go directly to the website via the direct link which I am also including.
It is hard not to be tempted by the many food blogs that are available online. So I can’t have a Links I Love post without including some really yummy looking recipes from some foodie websites!
We love making homemade pizzas and usually have a couple of homemade pizza bases in the freezer. So we are always on the lookout for different flavours to use as pizza toppings! When I saw this recipe for Chicken Curry Pizza at The Realistic Nutritionist I just had to pin it!
I am also a big fan of one bowl recipes. I love to cook but it is great when the recipe is very easy, so a one bowl recipe is always a winner. I recently shared a recipe for a One Bowl Chocolate Walnut Cake and I can’t help pinning other yummy looking one bowl recipes. The One Bowl Chocolate Cake shown below from Ashley at Kitchen meets Girl is definitely one recipe that I want to try!
I don’t indulge in homemade cookies nearly enough for my liking (darn those scales!) but I do love drooling over them online! I’m a big fan of chocolate chip cookies (here is an easy recipe) and I also love ones with rolled oats. So when I saw the recipe for some delicious looking Laura Bush’s Texas Governor’s Mansion Cowboy Cookies being shared at Veggie Mama I knew that I would have to put them on my cookie to-do list! I haven’t tried them yet but mark my words I WILL!
I had to share the following link just because the cookie bars look so indulgent! I don’t know if my waistline could cope with these Peanut Butter Caramel Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars from Trish at Mom On Timeout. They look so good – actually I can feel my pants getting tighter just looking at them 🙂 I think that I will have to keep this recipe for a party so that I won’t be tempted to eat too many myself!
After all that indulgence I need a low calorie meal to balance things up! I try to watch my weight by counting calories so I love looking at the low calorie recipes found on the skinny taste website. Last month a guest post featured a yummy looking recipe for Carrot “Rice” Leek Risotto with Bacon. I just love this low calorie risotto-like recipe and fully intend to give it a go. I also love the video demo showing ‘How to Spiralize Carrots’. Until I saw this I had never even heard of a spiralizer – now I want one!
Leaving food behind, I also found this great link at Lil’ Luna that shows How to Remove Ink Stains. Who would have known that it could be so easy to remove ink stains from your clothes – you have to check it out!
I also love this $10 DIY Glass Bottle & Wood Vase that I found at Shanty 2 Chic. It looks very effective as a simple but elegant dinner table centrepiece.
Finally I had to share the link to the really pretty Simple to Make DIY Lace Earrings that I saw when visiting LIAGRIFFITH.COM. I have never thought of using lace in DIY earrings. Again they look so simple but very elegant!
Well that’s it! I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of my favourite web links from April 2014.
