If you want the yummy taste of pizza in a bite sized form why not try this Pizza Pinwheels recipe? They are delicious and so very quick and easy to make!
I must say that I am a bit of a pinwheel recipe lover. I made these Delicious Savoury Pinwheels about three years ago and I have been hooked on these bite sized little pastry spirals ever since!
Pinwheels are such wonderful appetizers and they are great at parties whether it is for adults or kids. Plus at this time of year they are great for all those Christmas and New Year get togethers!
I have tried a few different flavour combinations over the last couple of years with varying success. But I think that I am on a winner with this pizza pinwheels recipe because these seem to tick all the boxes. These are very quick and easy to make, they are absolutely scrumptious, and they freeze well.
If you want to make them ahead of time just place them into an airtight container after they have cooled and pop them in the freezer. Then just reheat them in the oven when you need them.
We usually have a bit of finger food on Christmas Eve so I have some of these ready in the freezer so that I only have to heat them up on Thursday night!
I used green capsicum because it adds a bit of colour contrast to the red pizza sauce but you could use what every colour capsicum you want – the pinwheels will taste the same! I also used one of the Leggo’s pizza sauce sachets for this pinwheels recipe because they are just the right size and I like their pizza sauce with garlic, onion and herbs!

Description
If you want the yummy taste of pizza in a bite sized form why not try this Pizza Pinwheels recipe? They are delicious and so very quick and easy to make!
Ingredients
- 2 sheets of ready rolled puff pastry
- 1 small green capsicum, deseeded and diced into small pieces
- 100g of bacon pieces
- 175g of grated tasty cheese
- 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon of barbeque sauce
- 50g of thinly sliced salami
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220 °C (430 °F)
- Place the capsicum, bacon, cheese, and sauces into a medium sized bowl and mix well to ensure that the bacon, cheese, and capsicum are coated with the sauces.
- Lay the ready rolled puff pastry sheets on a bench and divide the mixture between the two sheets.
- Spread the mixture out over the surface of the pastry leaving about 1 inch at the top.
- Lay some pieces of sliced salami on top of the mixture (don’t worry if you don’t cover all of the pastry but try to have some going from one side of the pastry to the other so that when you roll it up each pinwheel will have some salami).
- Moisten the top edge of the pastry with water and then carefully roll the pastry up from the bottom to form a log.
- Cut the rolled pastry into 1 cm thick pieces.
- Carefully transfer the pinwheels onto a lined baking tray, laying them down on their side.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly on tray before serving.
