I wanted to have a go at making some more of my own earrings and I wanted them to be easy to make. I was looking online for inspiration when I came across this link (sorry link is … [Read more...]
Plastic Earrings from Recycled Sauce Bottles
I love making my own jewellery from recycled materials. Like these cool plastic earrings that were made from part of a squeeze tomato sauce bottle! Earlier this year I shared a tutorial on how to make some really cute plastic earrings from recycled milk bottles. They were so easy to make that I have been wondering how I could make some more using different colours! The milk bottles are really easy to work with but unfortunately they only come in one colour – white! So I had to start looking … [Read more...]
Liebster Award
What is the Liebster Award you ask? Well, I asked myself that question too when I was nominated for the award by the lovely Amanda at Crafty Cooking Mama. But after having a look around online I now know that the Liebster Award is an online prize that is awarded to bloggers by other bloggers! From what I have read it is like the encouragement award of blogging, designed to recognise new blogs with less than 1000 followers. How cool – giving other new and emerging blogs a bit of a virtual … [Read more...]
5 Laundry Products That You Can Make Yourself
I love the idea of being able to make your own cleaning products. Not just because the homemade version is often cheaper but also because it means that I know exactly what is in the product I am using. One product that I have been making up myself over the last couple of years is a window and mirror cleaner. It is great knowing that it’s non-toxic and because it consists of everyday items that I always have on hand - I never run out. Recently I was wondering about other regular household … [Read more...]
Plastic Earrings from Recycled Milk Bottles
Making jewellery from recycled stuff is really popular at the moment and I can see why. I have been interested in having a go at making some of my own jewellery for a few years now but it was only recently that I gave it a try. In particular I wanted to make some of my own earrings because I tend to wear earrings more than necklaces, bracelets, or rings. I like earrings … [Read more...]
Easy Ink Stain Removal Tip
I haven’t had an ink stain on any of my clothes for such a long time. I actually can’t remember the last time that I had to seriously think about ink stain removal. I’m not complaining mind you! Last week though I was using my legs as a desk while I made some quick notes and, you guessed it, I managed to get a big blue pen mark on the knee of my jeans! It probably wouldn’t have been a big problem if I was wearing blue jeans. But no, I wasn’t wearing blue jeans was I! I just happened to be … [Read more...]
Home Wireless Network Success: Position is the Key!
My home network gateway which includes an ADSL modem and wireless router has been driving me mad lately! The DSL connection to my wireless network has dropped out occasionally in the past and I have put it down to being just one of those things. I would just have to wait a minute and the connection would be restored. However, over the last few months, my relationship with my wireless network gateway has really begun to sour. I dreaded getting on the computer to do anything because I … [Read more...]
Cool Vases from Everyday Objects
I must say that when I have flowers I normally just get out a standard vase, fill it with water, and then plonk the flowers in. Making a vase doesn’t normally enter my mind! That is until now! I have discovered that there are lots of ways that you can make your own vases so that it is not just the flowers that are a focal point - but the vase is too! When my mum recently told me that she was going to arrange some flowers, using a pumpkin as a vase, I was a bit sceptical. I could not even … [Read more...]
