As we look back at April I wanted to share this photo of one of our yuccas in bloom. They have a rather large flower spike that is covered in lots of smaller white flowers. They’re a bit hard to get a good photo of because they are right on top of the plant. Most of the yuccas we have a quite tall (probably over 2 metres) so I’d have to get onto a ladder to take a really good photo!
I like this one though because it shows the yucca leaves, the white flowers, and it has the beautiful blue autumn sky in the background. It is such a shame that these flowers only last a couple of weeks. They look so pretty way up in the air.
As the weather continues to cool though they die back, as have many of the other flowers in our garden. The main source of colour in our garden at the moment is the chrysanthemums. Gee they look lovely at the moment!
But enough about my garden, time to have a look at some of the great links that I saw during April. As usual I will share a direct link as well as a Pinterest pin. So it is up to you whether you pin it for later or click the link to go straight to the source!
The first link that I want to share is for these Chicken Parmesan Zucchini Boats that I saw over at Love and Risotto. Zucchini is one of my favourite summer vegetables and I love the idea of stuffing them with rotisserie chicken!
Speaking of summer vegetables, I also loved the look of this Cucumber Radish Salad from Melanie Cooks! Summer has just finished where I am but I look forward to trying this salad with home grown cucumbers and radishes next summer!
These Chocolate Crinkle Sprinkle Cookies that I saw at Brown Eyed Baker also caught my eye during April. I love the idea of using sprinkles to coat crinkle cookies!
Something I also love is chocolate chips and sour cream in a cake! So I just had to share this Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Coffee Cake Recipe from Ashlee Marie. It looks so good!
Moving away from the kitchen, the next link that I wanted to share is for this DIY Necklace with Rainbow Drinking Straws from Zina at EfZin Creations. What a clever idea, I would never have thought to do that!
Staying with jewellery, I came across this DIY Pyramid Jewellery Stand at Isoscella and I just had to share. Again this is such a cool idea!
The final link that I wanted to share for this month is for this Natural Air Freshener from Smart School House. As the weather cool off this will be great for when it’s too cold to open a window!
That is all the links that I wanted to share from April! I hope that you have enjoyed seeing them as much as I did. Maybe, like me, they have given you some ideas to try! If you would like to see some great links check out my Pinterest Page.
