Wow July seemed to disappear fast; I can’t believe that we are into August now! It’s the last month of winter here so it is still very cold. We’ve had lots of frosty mornings over the last few weeks.
That being said there are a few signs that spring is on its way. The spring bulbs are getting a good size now, looking forward to having tulip flowers again! We have also had the odd warm and sunny day. Earlier this week we had a couple of beautiful days where it almost seemed like spring!
This month’s photo is of the happy wanderer flowers in our vegetable patch. The happy wanderer starts flowering in July and it is one of the first flowers to attract bees to the vegie patch. The garden has been so dreary for the last few months so it is nice to see some colour coming back!
I’d better get down to business and show you some of the great links I saw during July. As usual I will share the direct link as well as a Pinterest pin. Feel free to head over to the source for a look or just pin it for later if you prefer.
My first link is this delicious looking Mongolian Beef recipe that I saw at Tastes Better from Scratch. I’ll be trying out this recipe out very soon!
I also want to try making some of this Grilled Balsamic Glazed Chicken from Chef in Training. It looks wonderful and it sounds so easy to make!
This Tomato Focaccia that I saw over at Recipe Girl also caught my eye last month. Hopefully I can make this over summer and use our home grown tomatoes!
I have been enjoying eating almonds lately so these Coconut Dark Chocolate Almond Clusters from Michelle at A Latte Food got my attention. These look like a perfect nutty chocolate snack!
I’m a sucker for a sweet lemon recipe so these Frosted Lemon Cookie Bars from Bake at 350 were always going to make this list! The ombre frosting looks so pretty don’t you think!
Speaking of cookies, I also wanted to share these Potato Chip Chocolate Chip Cookies from Bakers Royale. I LOVE the idea of putting potato chips in cookies!
Another link I just had to share was this tutorial from Angie at Bakerella showing how to Make Your Own Sprinkles. What a great way to make custom coloured sprinkles for a special occasion!
Just as clever is this tutorial from Make magazine showing how to Twist Fabric Scraps into Colorful Twine. I’ve got a few fabric scraps I could try this out on!
I’m a big fan of DIY jewellery so I wanted to share this Easiest Wrap Bracelet Ever that I saw at Baubles and Beads. I love it when you can make a cute piece of jewellery without much effort!
Another piece of jewellery that I would love to have a go at making is this Easy Tricolour Pendant with Nail Polish from White House Crafts. Again this is such an easy project but the result is beautiful!
My final link is for these Lemon Lime Votive Candles that I saw at Crafts by Amanda. How cute do these look!
Well that’s it for now; I hope you have enjoyed checking out some of the great links that I found during July. If you need some more baking or crafting inspiration why not head over to my Pinterest page and have a look. And while you’re there why not follow me too!
