Oh my goodness winter has really taken hold lately! June 2014 could probably be described as a fairly mild start to winter but so far July has been very cold and wet. Most days of July we have struggled to reach double figures!
The best thing about winter though is the yummy hot food that we can cook! This year we have lots of butternut pumpkins in storage so we have been enjoying lots of pumpkin recipes! Last week I shared a yummy Potato and Pumpkin Soup recipe that is really easy to make. Another favourite in our family is the delicious Creamy Vegetable Curry which is great with butternut pumpkin.
One more thing that is good to do when it’s cold and wet outside is read other blogs and find great links! In this post I am sharing some of the great content that I have found online during June 2014.
As usual I will share the direct links so that you can go directly to the websites and check them out. I am also sharing the links via my Pinterest pins. This way you can use the ‘Pin It’ button and pin them onto one of your Pinterest boards if you wish.
The first link that I have to share is a recipe for Strawberry Shortcake with Coconut Whipped Cream from Gimme Some Oven. These look just like scones with jam and cream so when I saw this recipe it got my mouth watering.
Another great strawberry dessert that I came across is this awesome looking Dairy Free Strawberry Brownie Trifle from Love Bakes Good Cakes. I just love the idea of a trifle that has brownies in it!
Strawberries seem to have caught my eye last month because I just had to include this Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake Recipe from 3 Boys and a Dog. I can’t say no to a yummy cheesecake like this!
I love to drool over lemon recipes and these Lemon Cream Cheese Cookie Bars from Girl. Inspired. were no exception. I also shared this yummy recipe in my recent Sweet Lemon Recipes roundup.
Now that I have thoroughly satisfied my sweet tooth let us move on to cheese 🙂
Yummy cheese wrapped in some homemade pizza dough sounds like bliss to me. I am definitely going to make some of these Easy Cheesy Sticks from Six Sisters’ Stuff for my next party!
I love it if you can inject some creativity into the garden. That’s why I wanted to share this Button Stepping Stones DIY idea from Mark Montano. I think that they look really cute – now I just have to find the time to make some myself!
I also really liked this Fabric Planter DIY idea I saw at A Beautiful Mess. I am all for making indoor plant pots look more attractive. Plain black pots can look terrible inside and buying really nice ones can be expensive.
I also had to share this DIY Marble Paper Watercolor Curtain Tutorial from Julia at Cuckoo 4 Design. When I first saw them I thought they looked so nice and summery; you would never guess that they were a DIY project!
The final link that I found during June 2014 and that I just have to share is this DIY Simple Bow Anklet from Crafts Unleashed. I love DIY jewellery and I thought that this anklet which features a pretty bow would look really great for summer.
Well that’s all I have time to share in this month’s Links I Love from June 2014 post. If you want to see some more great content check out The Links Site on Pinterest and follow me to get these great links and more on your Pinterest timeline!
