Organising Garden Irrigation Supplies

Whether you have a large or a small garden having some sort of garden irrigation set up can be handy. Things like drippers and sprays permanently set up in a garden bed make watering the garden so much easier. For most of our garden beds we just have to either turn on a tap or connect a hose to one point and the entire garden bed is watered.

When you have a garden irrigation system you inevitably end up with lots of spare bits and pieces. Such as different types of spray heads, spare drippers, as well as various connectors, clamps, and adaptors.

Over the years we have accumulated lots of spare bits and pieces! Until now my collection of spares for the garden irrigation system has been unorganised to say the least. There was a large collection of half empty packets of the new parts and many of them where not stored together. Often I would have to check in the garden shed and the garage to find what I was looking for! Plus I only had a plastic container for storing any used (but still okay) parts and it was very frustrating trying to sift through that looking for what I needed!

This summer I decided to get the garden irrigation supplies more organised and I thought that a container like a fishing tackle box would be just what I needed. I got myself a storage box organiser at the hardware store for less than $8. It’s a double sided carry case that has small compartments on either side. It has removable dividers so that you can adjust the size of the compartments to suit your needs.

I used one side for all of the new irrigation parts and the other side for my collection of used parts that are still ok to use should I need them again. There are a couple things that are too big to fit into the storage box but I just store them with this box. Most of the time it is the little parts that are hard to find rather than the bigger parts anyway!

Now I have all my garden irrigation supplies organised so I can grab my storage box and head straight out to the garden whenever I need to set up more irrigation or repair the existing irrigation.
